PERSONAL ASSISTANT (To The Director Medical Services EMS)

Job Purpose:

The Western Cape Government is seeking to employ skilled individuals to provide administrative support and participate in ensuring the compliance of EPWP. This position is stationed in Cape Town, Principal Coordination and Compliance Monitoring at the Department of Transport and Public Works.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Grade 12 (Senior Certificate).

Minimum educational qualifications:

► Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with an appropriate post matric secretarial or office management qualification of a minimum duration of 12 months.


► Appropriate experience in rendering support service to senior management.

Inherent requirement of the job:

► Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

► Computer literacy (MS Office package) e-mail and facsimile literate.

► Good communication skills (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

► Good planning and organisational skills, including office management.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):

► Provide a receptionist support service to the Director.

► Render administrative support services and be responsible for the manager’s office equipment.

► Provides support to the Senior Manager regarding meetings.

► Manage electronic document tracking system.

► Maintain the diary, manage appointments and travel arrangements of the Director.

► Interpret documents received and advise the manager as to the required actions and follow up on tasks allocated to sections.
